Mark Wahlberg Took a Gamble on His Family’s ‘Fresh Start’ & It's Paying Off
Mark Wahlberg moved his family to Sin City last fall, and the change has been a huge success. In an interview with E! News, the actor said the decision to relocate to Las Vegas came after spending lots of time in Los Angeles pursuing his career and interests.

“Now it’s time for them to pursue theirs,” the actor said of his four kids — Ella, 19, Michael, 16, Brendan, 14, and Grace, 12 — who he shares with wife Rhea Durham.
“To be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams — whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer — this made a lot more sense for us,” he told The Talk in Oct. 2022. “We came here to just kind of give ourselves a new look, a fresh start for the kids, and there’s lot of opportunity here. I’m really excited about the future.”
It was certainly a crapshoot, but Wahlberg said his family is winning. “Everybody is thriving there, it’s been great.”
And though the move was meant for his kids, Wahlberg is embracing the Nevada life too, breaking the cardinal rule of “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” by telling E! News he’s been loving the local entertainment.
“I saw Adele, I saw Bruno Mars,” he said. “I’ve seen quite a few shows and been to lots of great restaurants. There’s so much to do in Vegas and it’s so exciting.”

Just last month, he went to UFC 285 with his son Brendan, and they totally looked like twins! In the rare photo Wahlberg shared, we see he and his son share the same raised eyebrows and casual smiles, and we weren’t the only ones who noticed.

Staking His Claim

Yup, nearly $16 million for just the land that’s located about 20 minutes from downtown. Word is that he bought a $14.5 million home to stay in while his mansion is being built. Not too shabby.

In January, he posted a video of himself exercising with Ella’s boyfriend of one year, James. It’s possible the two were breaking a sweat at the gym located in Wahlberg’s gated community.
“I used to work out to keep the boys away from my girls, but now, I’m working out with the boyfriend,” the rapper said. “Imagine that. Self-made.”
