How to live longer – the 85p fruit you should add to your diet to avoid an early death

The key to living longer could be to eat a healthy, balanced diet – including at least five portions of fruit and vegetables every day – as well as regular exercise. But you could boost your life expectancy by regularly eating avocados, it’s been claimed.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including a well-rounded diet is crucial to prolonging your lifespan.

You could also boost your lifespan by doing regular exercise. It’s the “miracle cure” we’ve all been waiting for, according to the NHS.

Making some small diet or lifestyle changes could help to increase your life expectancy and avoid an early death.

One of the best foods to add to your regular diet is avocado, it’s been claimed.

Avocado is an ideal fruit that has several health benefits, nutritionists have revealed.

They’re a so-called super fruit that protect the heart against heart disease and even heart attacks.

That’s because they reduce the amount of ‘bad’ cholesterol in the body, while also boosting the amount of ‘good’ cholesterol, according to dietitian Juliette Kellow and nutritionist Dr Sarah Brewer.

A build-up of cholesterol in the blood increases your chances of heart disease.

“These heart-healthy benefits are most likely thanks to avocados being high in monounsaturated fat.

“Avocados also contain heart-friendly phytosterols such as beta-sitosterol, which help to lower blood cholesterol levels.”
