Leni Klum, the daughter of supermodel Heidi Klum, always wanted to follow in her famous mom’s footsteps, but she wasn’t allowed to enter the fashion world until she turned 16.

Heidi had straight up “shut down” the idea, Leni explained to Extra on Thursday. Explaining that she once got stopped (presumably by a talent agent) in a store, the girl had excitedly asked her mom if she could pursue the profession, “and she was just like, parenteral methotrexate no and shut it down completely,” Leni told the outlet while shooting a cover for Rollacoaster magazine. “….Ever since 11 or 12 tears old I’ve been begging her and then finally I turned 16 and she said that I could finally start modeling.”

As Heidi told People in December of her daughter, “She’s old enough now. I always thought she was too young. We always also decided to keep the children out of the public eye. But she’s driving a car now, she’s 16, so I figured if you can do that, you can also model now if this is what you wish to do.” Heidi, currently married to Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz, is also mother to Henry, 15, Johan, 14, and Lou, 11, with her ex-husband Seal.

Leni, who last year graced the cover of Vogue Germany with her mom and recently the cover of Glamour Germany, also shared the exclusive modeling advice she received from Heidi. “She’s always telling that I need to have fun…bounce around, be fun, be energetic, be excited,” she told Extra.

The teenager also just added “fashion designer” to her list of accomplishments: On September 11, Leni walked the runway for About You’s Berlin Fashion Week show, where she showed off designs from her upcoming collection.

These celebrity moms may use weed to help them with that daily juggle.
