How Did Kendall Jenner Survive Halloween in This Foot-Tall Wig?
Halloween is the one time of year I seriously stalk celebrities' social media accounts. Yes, red carpet events like movie premieres, fundraisers, and award shows have their fair share of fashion and over-the-top creativity, of course, but nothing beats costumed photo shoots and the nostalgia that comes with seeing your favorite celebrities go all out on Hallows' Eve. One model, in particular, Kendall Jenner (ever heard of her?), plays no games on October 31.
On the holiday, Jenner uploaded a series of photos to Instagram dedicated to her Mars Attacks! costume, which included a head of hair higher than Cindy Lou Whoo's from Dr. Seuss's How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Still not picturing it? Let me describe this blonde wig, which Martian Girl uses to disguise her gigantic alien head in the movie.
Starting from the top, Jenner's hair parts down the middle from what looks like a ponytail, falling on either side to her cheekbones, where the ends bounce upward with a curly swoop. She accessorized the wig with a gigantic lock of hair twirled into a loop that rests on the left side of her forehead. Jenner captioned her Halloween costume debut, "Mars Attacks! happy halloweeeeeen," and paired the main attraction with a cone-shaped bra, a red-and-white body-framing jumpsuit, and pointed high heels.

The wig isn't the only beauty moment we're calling out here. Let's take a second to appreciate the smoky, baby-blue eyeshadow that we've never seen on Jenner as she's one to keep her everyday makeup to a simple stroke of liner and mascara. Of course, the look would not be spot-on if a glossy red lip weren't applied as the cherry on top, nailing the Martian Girl costume to a tee.
What's even more shocking was that Jenner actually wore this costume out — as seen on her Instagram story the night of October 31 — not just for a Halloween photo shoot, which so many celebrities do these days. While many questions arise in my mind as to how she survived an entire party with this larger-than-life updo (did she have to duck under the doors of the party bus to get in?), I'm eagerly awaiting a tutorial from her hairstylist, Jen Atkin, who took on the challenge of creating this look.
In the meantime, I'll be rewatching Mars Attacks! while bookmarking other iconic celebrity Halloween costumes including Lizzo as Yoda, Cardi B as Morticia from The Addams Family, and Hailey Bieber as Britney Spears.
