Gisele Bündchen Washes Her Face Using ONLY Water
Gisele Bündchen's career has taken her around the world several times over. Such is the life of one of the most recognizable supermodels in the world. But as we learned when we chatted with her recently, you're most likely to spot Bündchen in Florida these days, or — if you mark your calendars for a special event kicking off this weekend — online.
Husband Tom Brady's new chapter with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has meant logging more than a few hours in Florida, and Bündchen is loving it. "I love the warmth, the smell of the ocean breeze, watching the powerful thunderstorms, and the magical sunsets," she tells Allure. "Feeling connected to nature brings me so much joy. The people here have been so lovely and welcoming – our family felt at home very fast."
That said, certain types of skin damage that occur with age can be expedited by a Florida lifestyle's tendency toward extra time outside. "Sun spots are very real!" says the supermodel, who recently turned 40. But she's not exactly mad about them. "Age is a beautiful thing and a natural part of life, but it can also be challenging. I've definitely seen changes in my skin over the years. When I look at these changes and see a reflection of all the years I've lived so far, I feel an incredible sense of gratitude. As I've gotten older, I have grown more comfortable in my own skin, and I'm grateful for every experience, and every year of my life so far."
That doesn't mean she doesn't take comprehensive care of her skin. She always has, in fact. "Taking care of your skin is a lifelong practice. I have learned that in order to have healthy skin later in life, you have to make skin care a priority when you are young," she says. "Everyone's skin is unique, so you need to find high-quality products and a daily skin-care routine that works for you."
For Bündchen, that routine is remarkably simple: "I wash my face with water," she says, and throws in an exfoliant every now and then. She makes sure to apply a moisturizer and eye cream at night. but the one product that she has been consistently using in the morning and the evening is Dior's Capture Totale Super Potent Serum, which brings together powerhouse hydrators — squalene, niacinamide, glycerin, and hyaluronic acid — with a downright garden of floral extracts to revitalize skin. She also happens to be the start of its campaign.
"I was blown away by the serum because, after only a week or so of using it daily, I started seeing results," she says, declaring her love for the formula, which promises to noticeably strengthen and brighten the complexion. "The first change was how glowy my complexion looked. The tone had evened out, and my skin looked so healthy and plump."
There's so much more to Bündchen's beauty routine than topical skin care, however. "Self-care is so important, and a lot of people feel they don't have time to make themselves a priority," Bündchen tells Allure, explaining that she believes skin is often a reflection of overall. Therefore, she's committed to drinking lots of water every day and practicing meditation each morning. "I believe that outer beauty is a reflection of your inner balance and peace."
You can watch Bündchen discuss more skin care and wellness when she hosts the Dior Skincare Talk starting October 23 on dior.com. And while you're there, pick up a bottle of Capture Totale Super Potent Serum starting at $85.
