From North Wearing Makeup to Their Family's Size: How Kim Kardashian & Kanye West Have Different Ideas About Parenting
Kanye Has Said He Wants More Kids
The father of daughters North, 7½, and Chicago, 3, and sons Saint, 5, and Psalm, who will turn 2 in May, Kanye previously told James Corden, “[I want] seven kids. The richest thing that you can have is as many children as possible.”

KKW told E! News that she loves being a mom, but she’s done adding to the family.
She said, “Being a mom of four is definitely really hectic but it feels so complete. I’m obsessed with my kids. I’m obsessed with being a mom of four.” She added, “I’m definitely done though and feel four is my limit. I believe that everyone needs so much attention and I need to be available to give it to everyone.”
This comes after the mogul made similar claims back in August 2019, when she answered a fan question on Instagram Stories. She wrote, “I LOVE my babies so much but 4 is all I can handle with how busy I am, and each one of my babies needs so much attention.”

Kanye’s Ready to Move to Wyoming
One thing the couple was often trying to compromise on was Kanye’s ranch in Wyoming. Kim shared with Jimmy Fallon that it’s her husband’s dream to be based in the state. Kanye was even reportedly looking at elementary schools at one point.
“We love Wyoming. It’s always been such an amazing place. My husband did just buy a ranch there. His dream and his vision is to move there,” she shared at the time.

Kim Would Rather Their Wyoming Ranch Be a Place to Visit
She told Fallon that she doesn’t envision it being a permanent home. She said, “I love L.A., so I envision summers, I envision some weekends but yeah, we love it. It’s like the prettiest place you’ve ever seen in your entire life.”

Kim’s Totally Cool with North Experimenting with Makeup
North is no stranger to a bold lip. So it’s no wonder that the KKW Beauty founder wouldn’t be bothered by her oldest daughter’s curiosity around makeup. In December 2018, Kim told Refinery29 that she often gives her daughter any extra product she has to play with: “I already know North is into makeup for sure,” Kim said. “She had friends over this weekend and some of her girlfriends came and they were just all in her room, giving themselves makeovers. I was like, OK, she’s really, really into makeup. When companies send makeup and I have a lot, I’ll give it to her.”
At the time, Kim did say that she wanted to give her eldest some boundaries, “I don’t think she should wear lashes or too dark of a lipstick,” she said.
The mom of four acknowledged it as “a form of expression” and said, “I want her to express herself, but I want her to be appropriate, too.”

Kanye Isn’t Cool with North Wearing Makeup
While Kim has previously shared photos of her daughter wearing bold eyeliner and lip colors — sometimes in the name of getting her out the door, and other times to let her express her creativity — it doesn’t seem that Dad often agreed.
Kim told E! News in October 2019, “North is trying to get in on the makeup but she’s being blocked heavily because her dad has stopped all makeup for her until she is a teenager. It’s a big discussion, a big fight in the household right now but it is what’s best.”
She continued, “I think as a parent you just learn and figure it out as you go and we realized we didn’t really want her to wear makeup at a young age but she sees her mom putting on lipstick and lip gloss.”
“I’d let her wear — you know, she has a little red for Christmas — I’d let her wear a red lip, or I’d let her do one pop of something,” Kim said. “I’d let her, if she’s wearing a black dress, a black lip. So I kind of got in trouble for that.”
“I think [Kanye] had it; he changed all the rules,” the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star continued. “So, it’s now no more makeup.”

Kim Loves That North Has Her Own Style
When North’s very first magazine cover was released, Kim expressed how proud she was of her daughter, then 5½ and wearing a crop top and makeup in the photos, for styling herself.
She tweeted, “I’m seriously so proud of my Northie! She picked her looks and eyeliner color and is so involved and loves fashion & beauty so much so she has the best time at her WWD shoot!”
She often praises her daughter’s creativity when it comes to fashion. She captioned a series of photos on Instagram of North in Japan and gushed, “My Northie girl is the ultimate fashionista! She comes with me to fabric stores and picks out what she likes and for our Japan trip I let her style herself.”
She added, “I should have let her style me too lol. She loves it. She’s having fun and I am so happy she’s so expressive.”

Kanye’s Not Okay with Crop Tops
Makeup isn’t the only thing that Kanye is keeping his daughter from wearing. The Jesus Is King rapper said in an interview with Zane Lowe for Beats One, “I don’t think North should wear crop tops just because I had her wearing a slip dress when she was 2 years old. I think and feel differently now, now that I’m Christian, now that I’m founder of a 3 billion dollar organization and married for five years.”

Kim and Kanye Want the ‘Best’ for the Kids During Their Divorce
Although they’ve had different parenting styles in the past, Kim and Kanye both want what’s “best” four their four kids amid their divorce.
A source told PEOPLE Friday, “Both of them want nothing but the best for the kids. They want the kids to be happy. The kids will stay with Kim, but Kanye will be able to see them whenever he wants to. They will work out a schedule that is good for everyone.”
